The Crew loved working on this event so much! We shot everything once the park was closed and it was very chilly. I remember George having to be under a blanket when he wasn't in his dressing room or on set.

Nostalgia really does paper over all wounds. Me and my family, who typically loved everything the parks were doing at this time, hated DCA when it opened. I still don't have much nostalgia for it until Tower of Terror opened.

Splash Mountain never carried over any of the so-called “problematic” elements from South of the South. It’s literally just about Brer Rabbit outwitting Brer Fox. I went my whole childhood never knowing what Song of the South even was until I reached adulthood. I guarantee you no little kid ever correlated a ride about Brer Rabbit with some obscure, defunct film that Disney has done their best to erase from existence.
